Ruscha was born in London, but chose to call Los Angeles home from a very young age. From Los Angeles, she made the move with her young family to Santa Barbara in 2000, and credits it as one of the best decisions of her life.
In 2004, Ruscha began her career in real estate. Steadily her star rose as her reputation grew strong with buyers, sellers, and agents alike. Buyers sincerely appreciate her for her relentless energy in pursuit of the right property at the right price, and sellers value her constant communication, feedback, and follow-up, in addition to her innate negotiation skills that are always used with her client’s wishes in mind. Whether buying or selling, Ruscha is always diligent about getting her clients exactly what they want. Among her fellow Realtors, Ruscha is admired for her solid work ethic and willingness to collaborate with others.
In recognition of her competence, The Santa Barbara Board of Realtors awarded her the Howard Gates award in successfully completing the most complex/difficult escrow, for what turned out to be a most rewarding yet extraordinarily difficult transaction.
(The purpose is to give recognition to agents who demonstrate the ability to bring a transaction to completion by meeting the challenges inherent in a sale or exchange and who, by their proficiency, skill, ingenuity, thoroughness and persistence, bring the process to fruition.
Primary emphasis is on the role the agent played in bringing about a closing in a transaction that might not have closed without the agent’s effort. Emphasis shall be given to the agent's ethics and his/her understanding and practice of real estate.)
Ruscha recently added a new avenue of expertise, pulling inspiration from her many friendships, business relationships, and one very special client to further her education and earn the designation of Senior Real Estate Specialist and Certified Probate & Trust Specialist. Having bought and sold two properties herself in the past five years, this ignited Ruscha’s empathy of being “on the other side of the transaction.”
Ruscha volunteered throughout her children’s years at Monte Vista Elementary School. She worked in the classroom as a Math Aid, teaching a curriculum partnered with the Santa Barbara Museum of Art called Great Works of Art (that introduced students to the great masters via presentations, and hands-on creation of art). Ruscha was the parent liaison with USCB’s Marine Biology department, bringing the JASON Project into the classroom which centered around broadcasts from the research submarine directly into the classroom with live Q & A sessions with the scientists as they studied underwater snow.
Ruscha’s more recent volunteer acitivites include LAPRIDE, The Trevor Project (teen suicide prevention), and participation in the Avon Breast Cancer Walk walking blister-free from Santa Barbara to Malibu to raise funds, and mulitple years working UCSB Educational conferences
Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day Event – Participant and Fundraiser
Santa Barbara Film Festival – VIP Guest Relations, greet, escort and guide guests.
UCSB Educational Conferences — Public Relations Lead, and on-site to welcome guests.
The Trevor Project, West Hollywood - Fundraiser and Ambassador tasked with greeting guests.
RUSCHA looks forward to the end of covid and getting back to more hands on involvement with local charities.
Her favorite places include: Lotusland, Belmond el Encanto, and the Douglas Preserve.
